The Operations Support Manager - Power Generation Projects serves as EthosEnergy O&M's operational lead for complex O&M contract mobilizations, plant transitions, outage planning, fleet support initiatives, and strategic customer projects. The ideal candidate combines hands-on power plant leadership experience with strong project planning, schedule management, resource coordination, commercial discipline, and customer-facing execution. This is not a pure project controls role; it is a power generation operations leadership role that uses project management methods to deliver safe, high-quality, on-budget, and on-schedule outcomes.
Project scopes may include greenfield and brownfield O&M mobilizations, major outages, rotor overhauls, unit modifications and upgrades, reliability improvement initiatives, facility assessments, and multi-site resource coordination across gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, compressors, and balance-of-plant equipment.

Why This Role Matters
• Lead high-visibility transitions and operational readiness efforts for power generation customers.
• Bring plant-level judgment to project planning, resource coordination, risk management, and outage execution.
• Influence multidisciplinary teams across operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, finance, HSE, commercial, customers, and third-party contractors.
• Strengthen repeatable mobilization, outage, and fleet support processes that improve safety, quality, schedule performance, margin, and customer confidence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the operational project lead for O&M transitions, mobilizations, outages, and fleet support projects from planning through execution and closeout.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated project schedules using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6, including critical path activities, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate site leadership, corporate support functions, owners employees, subcontractors, vendors, and EthosEnergy business units to deliver contracted scope safely and effectively.
  • Lead project meetings, drive action item closure, maintain decision logs, and escalate risks or barriers that could impact safety, quality, scope, budget, or schedule.
  • Facilitate pre-activity and outage planning in accordance with EthosEnergy requirements, customer expectations, contractual obligations, and site-specific operational constraints.
  • Solicit quotations, support commercial negotiations, approve or recommend purchase orders within established budget and delegation of authority, and manage subcontractor performance against scope.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report project performance using cost, labor hour, schedule, scope, risk, change, and variance reporting techniques.
  • Manage scope change by evaluating customer needs, contract requirements, project impacts, and service provider responsibilities.
  • Lead periodic project financial and margin reviews with internal stakeholders and identify cost reduction or productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Capture lessons learned and convert them into improved templates, processes, planning tools, and execution practices for future mobilizations, outages, and transitions.
  • Participate in broader Operations Support Group activities, including reliability programs, facility assessments, fleet-wide improvement initiatives, and customer support assignments.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience leading people, contractors, budgets, schedules, operational readiness activities, and customer interfaces in a power plant or comparable industrial environment.
  • Prior experience with gas turbine, steam turbine, combined cycle, simple cycle, cogeneration, or balance-of-plant operations strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience planning or executing outages, major maintenance events, plant transitions, startup/commissioning support, or O&M mobilizations.
  • Successful experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix environment where influence, accountability, and communication are essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of project management fundamentals, including planning, schedule development, resource coordination, risk management, change control, quality management, cost control, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6 to create, maintain, and communicate project schedules. Resource loading, baseline management, and critical path management are preferred.
  • Strong commercial understanding of contracts, scope boundaries, change management, subcontractor coordination, and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare executive-level project updates, weekly/monthly/quarterly reports, and clear customer communications.
  • Lead one or more power plant O&M mobilizations, transitions, outage planning efforts, or fleet support projects with clear scope, schedule, resource plan, risk register, and communication cadence.
  • Establish credible working relationships with site teams, customers, subcontractors, and internal EthosEnergy stakeholders.
  • Create or improve practical project planning tools, schedule templates, lessons learned processes, and reporting routines for repeatable execution.
  • Support safe, high-quality project delivery while protecting margin, managing change, and reinforcing customer confidence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to translate plant operating realities into executable project plans and clear resource coordination decisions.

Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant power generation or heavy industrial operations experience.
  • 5+ years in a plant, operations, maintenance, outage, asset management, construction, mobilization, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Former Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager, Asset Manager, Outage Manager, Construction Manager, Mobilization Manager, or Fleet Support Manager.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites, customer contracts, O&M services, reliability programs, or fleet-level performance improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in power, oil and gas, pulp and paper, food processing, or other process industries with rotating equipment, utility systems, and high-consequence operations.

Education Requirements

  • Engineering degree preferred; business degree with operations improvement experience will also be considered.
  • PMP, PMI, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Lean, Six Sigma, quality, or equivalent professional training/certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Extensive travel to EthosEnergy O&M contracted facilities and customer facilities is required.
  • Ability to work in power plant and industrial environments, including walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds as required by site conditions.
