Linda Brussaard, HR Manager

About the position

In this role, you will take ownership of complex international relocation and assignment cases and actively contribute to the further development and professionalisation of our global mobility framework.

You are responsible for the full spectrum of international mobility activities: from advising the business at the start of an assignment to immigration, taxation, social security, employment conditions and relocation support.

Your expertise strengthens the consistency, effectiveness and compliance of global mobility within Huisman.

Key responsibilities
As the first point of contact for business representatives and assignees, you advise line managers, HR-teams and Talent Acquisition Partners on relocation packages, timelines, financial implications and policy application.

You review and prepare cost projections and coordinate the full lifecycle of international assignments (project-based, short-term and long-term). This includes immigration and tax arrangements, social security matters, relocation and settling-in support, schooling and partner assistance, and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.

You guide employees and their families on policy and expectations and ensure payroll teams receive accurate and timely instructions regarding pay adjustments and reimbursements.

In addition, you manage your own portfolio of cases and vendors, collaborate with global stakeholders and actively contribute to operational improvements within the mobility function.

What can you expect from the role of Global Mobility & Tax Compliance Specialist within Huisman?
In this role, you ensure that employees can work worldwide in a well-prepared, compliant and structured manner. At the same time, you contribute to managing the (tax) obligations arising from the global deployment of employees.

You act as the connecting link between employees, HR, Tax, Finance, Payroll and external advisers. Thanks to your overview and expertise, international mobility processes run in a structured and compliant way.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and coordinating international assignments;
  • Applying working time legislation and social security regulations in cross-border situations;
    Assessing whether a permanent establishment may arise in the host country, including consideration of the duration of activities;
  • Coordinating tax obligations resulting from a potential permanent establishment, including corporate income tax, VAT and personal income tax;
  • Supporting tax compliance in the host country relating to corporate income tax, VAT and/or personal income tax;
  • Comparing salaries between the home and host country;
  • Applying for and managing A1 certificates;
  • Handling posted worker registrations;
  • Preparing and maintaining assignment documentation;
  • Arranging the enrolment and deregistration of insurances (like voluntary insurances UWV and international health care);
  • Coordinating with HR, Payroll, Finance, Tax and external advisers.

What do we expect of you?

In this role, you bring structure and clarity to international mobility. You understand what is required to enable employees to work across borders in compliance with applicable legislation and translate this into clear arrangements and well-organised processes.

You are aware of the potential impact international deployment may have on the employer, particularly from a tax perspective, and actively contribute to ensuring compliance in the host country. In doing so, you effectively liaise with HR, Tax, Finance and external advisers.

You work independently and take ownership of your cases, maintaining control over quality and progress while keeping both the organisational and employee perspective in mind. International laws and regulations are not a barrier to you, but a professional responsibility.

Wondering if you are 'equipped for impact'?

You are:

  • Structured and capable of managing complex international processes;
  • Accurate and detail-oriented, with attention to both organisational and employee interests;
  • A strong communicator, comfortable working with various internal and external stakeholders;
  • Proactive and confident in taking decisions within your field of expertise.

You have:

  • Experience in global mobility, international HR processes or expatriate and assignment structures;
  • Experience in assessing permanent establishment;
  • Knowledge of Dutch and international regulations related to cross-border employment, including social security, immigration and tax compliance;
  • A good command of the Dutch and English language verbally and in writing;
  • A professional and responsible working approach within an international environment.

Some practical things we need you to have

  • An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands.
  • A good command of the Dutch and English language verbally and in writing.

What do we have to offer?

  • A competitive benefits package aligned with your experience and level of education.
  • An international and technically driven working environment.
    Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • An open, informal and no-nonsense culture with short communication lines.
