Brunel has partnered with Hatch to support the hiring of a Senior Planner join their team. Through this partnership, we are seeking a Senior Planner to join Hatch’s Project Delivery Group (PDG)—a dynamic and globally integrated team delivering world-class projects. The PDG combines deep expertise in sustainable studies, asset developmt.

Your role
As a senior planner, you will be responsible for integrated project planning, with a particular focus on on-site construction activities.
You will act as a strategic partner to project managers and field teams, ensuring a clear, proactive and realistic vision of work execution.
 
 
Your responsibilities
1. Integrated EPCM (360°) Planning
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules covering all phases of the project: engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
  • Ensuring consistency of sequences between disciplines and key interfaces
  • Define the breakdown structure (WBS) and the planning logic
 
2. Construction planning and on-site presence
  • Actively support the construction teams on site
  • Adapt the timelines according to on-the-ground realities, operational constraints and progress.
  • Participate in site meetings and contribute to the proactive resolution of execution issues
  • Ensure a strong presence and credibility with field teams
 
3. Schedule monitoring and performance analysis
  • Perform advanced analyses:
    • critical path
    • acquired value (EV / PV / AC)
    • schedule deviations and performance indicators
  • Identifying risks and schedule deviations
  • Recommend and monitor corrective measures
 
4. Risk management and optimization
  • Integrating planning into project risk analyses
  • Anticipating conflicts, constraints and bottlenecks
  • Propose strategies for optimizing sequence and productivity
  • Contribute to the robustness and resilience of the execution plan
 
5. Monitoring, reporting and decision support
  • Update the timelines based on actual progress
  • Produce clear and structured reports for project management
  • Providing a strategic analysis of gaps and trends
  • Supporting key decisions regarding resource prioritization and management
 
6. Leadership and collaboration
  • Working closely with:
    • project managers
    • engineering, procurement and construction teams
    • entrepreneurs and partners
  • Mentor or support more junior planners as needed
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning practices
 
 
Your profile
  • Significant experience in EPCM planning for major projects
  • On-site construction experience (highly essential)
  • Experience in the mining and metals industry (a major asset)
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (required) and MS Project
  • Solid understanding of the logic of complex and multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience in earned value and schedule performance analysis
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts on site
