Job Description

Functional Capabilities:

  Maintenance planning and scheduling (preventive, corrective, predictive)

  Plant Maintenance (PM) module on relevant CMMS

  Equipment master data management

  Job card creation and resource coordination

  Parts, tools, and resource availability planning

  Backlog, compliance, and cost monitoring

  Maintenance performance reporting and continuous improvement

  Communication and stakeholder coordination

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Key Outcomes:

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Planning

  Develop, schedule, and optimize PM tasks in line with OEM standards and internal best practices.

  Plan and schedule inspections, lubrication, calibrations, and condition-based tasks to ensure equipment reliability.

  Ensure that preventive maintenance plans are reviewed and updated periodically based on equipment performance.

Maintenance Work Management & Scheduling

  Convert maintenance notifications into work orders with clear scope, required materials, and labor estimates.

  Schedule daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance plans in coordination with production and maintenance teams.

  Allocate tasks based on artisan availability and skill set, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Resource & Materials Coordination

  Ensure all materials, tools, and spare parts are available before scheduled maintenance begins.

  Collaborate with the Engineering Stores and Technical Administrator to expedite procurement or issue parts.

  Track consumption of critical spares and maintain minimum stock levels through system updates.

Maintenance System Administration & Data Integrity

  Ensure accurate entry and update of technical object data, task lists, and maintenance history in the CMMS.

  Manage maintenance master data integrity and structure (equipment hierarchy, task groups, maintenance plans).

  Generate and distribute reports on work order backlog, PM compliance, and overdue tasks.

Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  Adhere to all SHEQ requirements when planning and coordinating maintenance activities.

  Support root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives through historical data and KPIs.

  Contribute to asset care strategies and reliability improvement projects by providing maintenance insights.

Team Leadership and Support

  Supervise and guide the Technical Administrator in managing documentation, maintenance records, and work order processing.

  Build strong relationships with maintenance teams, production, stores, and engineering stakeholders.

Skills, Experience & Education

Skills & Experience:

Education

  Minimum: N6/National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  Trade Test as an Artisan in relevant maintenance trade (Mechanical, Electrical or Millwright)

  Preferred: BTech or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent and Trade Test

  CMMS Certification (advantageous)

Experience

  4–6 years’ experience in a maintenance planning role within a manufacturing or FMCG environment

  2 years experience as a maintenance artisan

  Solid background in asset care, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), or TPM environments

  Working knowledge of production and maintenance integration

Skills

  Strong understanding of maintenance workflows, planning, and scheduling principles

  Ability to interpret engineering drawings, OEM manuals, and technical standards

  Analytical and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI (advantageous)

  Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills

  Sound understanding of spare parts planning and engineering stores processes

  Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  Working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) systems
